Not all deck are fire resistant
, as most decking in Singapore are not treated to be fire resistant, as this is not requirement from the Government. Decks are where fires often start, whether from windblown embers or from charcoal falling out of your grill. Most wood species are rated Class C for fire resistance, but you can build safer with a Class A–rated composite decking with Supertimber range of decking. Not all decking is created equal, though—be sure to check fire ratings before you buy.
Are your materials used to construct the deck, patio or porch combustible?
Examples of combustible materials include solid wood or wood plastic composite products.

Most of the time, fire from BBQ charcoal embers start the fire on your deck, and may create massive destruction to your house, and harm your love one. Do you want to take the risk?

It is available in long lengths and relatively easy to season. Ironwood has a Class A fire rating.
