- Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: This is a measure of the degree to which a material expands or a contract as it is heated or cooled. It is a very important factor to measure as drastic changes in temperature are very common in some geographical areas. Traditional plastic timber has a tendency to expand and contract with varying temperatures which poses a problem in the construction of a deck. Special allowances have to be made in joints and connection and the boards have to be spaced apart to compensate for their change in shape which makes for a deck with larger gaps. If the boards are not spaced correctly, the entire structure could be ruined. FRC, on the other hand, because of its formulation and unique production process, has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is significantly lower than most plastic timber products. (see test result in appendix)

- Termite Resistance: In many areas termites pose a major problem to wooden structures. Over a few years they can completely destroy the structural integrity of a wooden structure resulting in higher maintenance costs, even the construction of a completely new structure. FRC is highly resistant to termite attack as the wood Fibres are encapsulated by plastic resin creating a barrier that is impenetrable to insects.

- Great Traction: FRC provides great traction compared to our competitor's deck boards (wet or dry) because of its wood grain-like finish. It also stays cool to the touch on a hot sunny day.

- A structural Product: FRC is the only structural product of its kind on the market. Other traditional "plastic" timbers are not strong enough to support the weight of a deck or dock. In fact some plastic timber boards have to be built on not more than 12" centers. FRC can accommodate 24' centers with no problem. It can also be used for joists, and beams in the construction of decks and dock

- Workability: FRC works like wood as it cuts and fastens very easily. There is no need for special tools or fastening devices when building a deck or dock.

- Made From Reclaimed Waste Materials: FRC is made from 100 % used materials that would otherwise be burned or sent to landfills.

- No Splinters, Warping, Checking or Cracking: FRC stays the same year after year after year.

- Low Maintenance: FRC does not require the maintenance of traditional wood decks; it combines the structural value of wood with the ease of care of plastic.
